Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
SumpIQ is an app that helps machine shops look after the coolant in their machines. This policy explains what the app does with information. In short: everything you enter stays on your phone, and we do not collect it.
Who we are
SumpIQ is made by Jacques Louw, Western Cape, South Africa. Contact: support@sumpiq.app.
What the app stores, and where
The app saves what you put into it — machines, oils, buckets and mixers, readings, fills, troubleshooting notes, settings and any photos you take in the app — only on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no login and no cloud copy.
If you delete the app, or clear its data, this information is deleted from your phone. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting, and it does not need an internet connection to work.
Camera and photos
The app asks for the camera to scan QR labels on machines and to take photos of machines, oils and mixers, and for your photos if you choose a picture from your gallery. Photos are kept in the app's storage on your phone and are not uploaded. You can say no; the rest of the app still works.
When you contact us or share something
If you email us (for example with "Send feedback"), we receive what you send — your email address and message — and use it only to reply. If you share or print a fill card or troubleshooting result, it goes where you choose to send it; the app does not send a copy to us.
Links to oil makers' data sheets open in your browser; those websites have their own privacy policies.
Children
SumpIQ is a workplace tool and is not aimed at children.
Your rights
Because the information is on your phone and not with us, you control it: you can change or delete it in the app at any time. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask at support@sumpiq.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or the data-protection authority where you live.
Changes
A future paid version may let a shop share its data between phones. If the app ever sends information anywhere, this policy will be updated first and the app will tell you before anything is shared.
